About Our Recitals
At Alexa’s Piano Lessons, we host two formal recitals each year—in May and October—giving students the chance to perform memorized songs and celebrate their musical growth in a fun and creative way.
Each recital has a unique theme to inspire our students and make each performance unforgettable. In October, our recitals are usually Halloween-themed, complete with costumes and spooky tunes. Other past themes have included Fairies & Fantasy, The Roaring 20s, and Disney Magic—and we always encourage performers to dress up to match the theme!
🎶 Students prepare 1–2 fully memorized songs that fit the theme
🎭 Themed costumes and decorations make each recital magical
📅 Recitals take place every May and October
👨👩👧👦 Friends and family are invited to attend and cheer students on
Whether it’s your first time on stage or your tenth, our recitals are a chance to shine, have fun, and be part of a supportive musical community!

About Our Open House Parties
Our Open House Parties are relaxed, low-pressure performance events held twice a year in July and December, giving students (and their families!) a fun way to share music in a casual, supportive setting.
Unlike our formal recitals, songs don’t need to be memorized—students can bring any piece they’re working on and enjoy performing just for fun!
🎹 What makes our Open House Parties special:
• Low-pressure performances – no need to memorize
• Open to the public – friends and family (on any instrument!) are welcome to perform too
• Laid-back, party atmosphere
• Treats, games, and music activities included
• A great way to introduce new friends to our studio
Whether you’re performing, cheering on others, or just stopping by for a cookie and some fun, our Open House Parties are all about celebrating music and community!

About Bring a Friend to Piano Week
Twice a year—every August and January—students at Alexa’s Piano Lessons get to share their love of music during Bring a Friend to Piano Week!
During this special week, each student invites a friend to join them for their regular piano lesson. It’s a fun and meaningful way to show off progress, introduce a friend to piano, and make music together.
🎵 Here’s what to expect:
• Students perform a song they've been working on
• Teach their friend how to play a simple song
• Then choose one of two musical activities to do together:
– 🎲 Play a fun music game
– 🎼 Compose a short song together
No prior piano experience is needed—just a love of learning and trying something new!
Bring a Friend to Piano Week is all about sharing the joy of music, having fun, and creating memories with someone special.

About the Easter Parade
Every year on the Saturday before Easter, Alexa’s Piano Lessons proudly participates in the Ahwatukee Kiwanis Easter Parade, bringing music, joy, and community spirit to over 10,000 spectators along Warner Road!
We hand-select up to 10 piano students to perform live on our DIY Easter float, playing upbeat songs as we roll through the heart of the parade. It’s an unforgettable opportunity to share their music with thousands of people in a high-energy, outdoor setting!
Float Performance Details:
• Up to 10 students perform live on our moving float
• Songs are played with backing tracks for a fun and polished sound
• Students wear festive attire and represent Alexa’s Piano Lessons with pride
Candy Crew:
Students who aren't performing are invited to walk alongside the float, handing out candy and spreading cheer to the crowd—no limit on how many can join the candy team!
This event is a studio favorite and a highlight of the spring season, blending live music, community involvement, and holiday fun into one unforgettable experience.
