To prepare for the upcoming recital, we have invited our students to come and play their recital pieces in front of each other. Recital workshops are especially best for first-time performers and nervous students.
We set up the workshops two weeks before the recital so students can get to know each other and feel comfortable with performing.
While we are waiting for students to arrive, we pass around a ball and say the person’s name. The students had fun warming up with the others and they got to learn something about each other.
The students each got to play their recital music and they picked who they wanted to go next. Each student got to perform two times.
If you would like to add a recital workshop into your studio, I would suggest having a game for everyone to play like bingo, tossing a ball, or a card game.
